Origin
A local record that follows the trail.
WhyTrashTahoe began during informal cleanup hikes. It became a way to connect ordinary cleanup work with the longer systems that determine what is protected, planned, permitted, recorded, and forgotten.
That thread helped lead to WhyTrashEarth. WhyTrashTahoe remains focused on Tahoe: a place-specific home for practical work, documents, and questions that deserve careful handling.

An extensive working collection of Tahoe government documents, maps, master plans, and records-request material is being organized for future public access.
The collection is not presented as proof of accusations. Records require dates, provenance, context, and careful reading. As the archive is prepared, pages for History, Records, Investigations, and Field Notes can grow without collapsing those distinctions.
